  13. This is lovely, I've got a couch similar to this now. Having a hard time with how much $$ the fabric costs. What kind did you use?

    1. Thanks! This fabric was about $15 per yard. I wanted a light linen look but I needed it to be able to hide stains. I'm hoping this is a good compromise! Also, I sprayed it with Scotch Guard.

    2. melissa we are also in the process of refinishing a similar couch. I bought a huge drop cloth for about $35 and may dye it a gray color. even if I don't drop cloth has a lovely and strong texture and at least for us trying reupholstering ourselves if we mess up the fabric investment isn't that much!

  15. looks lovely! can't wait to see your process. we are working on redoing one and I took extensive pictures while ripping it apart. hardest part since we had to throw out the insides is where to get affordable stuffing/cushions! any suggestions?

    1. Dear Emmeline, I hopped over to your blog and decided to follow- love the fall mantel!! The stuffing on my sofa was good so I didn't have to buy any but you may be able to check with a local upholsterer to see if their sources are less expensive than like maybe, Joann Fabrics. My mother also had foam for my cushion - I know it's pricey, sorry I can't really help you there. Good luck!!
