Making little plant pots.

I have been wanting some green plants and had this little metal holder so I decided to bring out the burlap again.
I don't remember what was in this originally but these wide mouth jars fit perfectly.

This project is pretty self explanatory.

I used the selvage along the top so that I wouldn't have to hem it.

All done, waiting for plants. I found these little ferns at Lowes on clearance. They are a little ragged but hopefully with a little attention they will flourish.

These would be cute standing alone also, I may try some with some string and a tag with the plant name on it. I did put a layer of pebbles in the bottom of each jar for drainage.

I'm linking up to Debbie Doo's Newbie Party again. A great way to make new friends!

  5. @ Libby - For the life of me, I can't remember where I got it, or even what kind of pots were in it. Sorry!

@Teri - I think the burlap came from Joann Fabrics.

    Thanks for commenting!

  8. @ Sarah, Thanks! It does add a bit of 'spring'. Do you have a Joann's? That's where i found mine - in the back near the indoor/outdoor fabric, just ask someone, it's popular for crafts right now so shouldn't be too hard to find.

  12. I'm visiting from The Lettered Cottage. I love these! I've never thought of using jars as planters, but when wrapped in fabric, they're so cute. Thanks for the inspiration.

  15. I like how you put the plants in little jars. I wanted to get more plants in my house but I didn't feel like buying a planter or planters.
